Breakfast meeting at Leo Burnett
Earlier this week Gumbo visited Ad agency Leo Burnett for a breakfast meeting. We put on a display of our Blue Suede shoes prints, along with lots of books and portfolios, beautiful screenprints from Chris Andrews, and Sarah Horne's amazing new pop-up book 'Monster House'. Lots of tearsheets and cards for were available for people to take away, as were homemade breakfast goodies and pastries! Live drawing was expertly provided by Sandra Howgate and Eivind Gulliksen. We really enjoyed meeting all the creatives and a good morning was had by all.

Mastermind
'Mastermind' is a group show of 2-colour risograph prints by 22 artists, produced and put on by Bolt Editions. The show is on at the moment at a variety of venues in Brixton Village - my print 'Elephant Snake' is showing at Italian restaurant Casa Sibilla. There are some great artists involved, including David Hughes, Rachel Gannon and Brett Ryder, so it's well worth a look. The show runs from 16th February until 18th March and prints can be purchased from Bolt editions priced at a mere £23.50 (including postage)! You can find more info and download an Art trail map here.

Wow, Time Flies...
Well, it's been several months since my last post and that is because I now have a beautiful baby girl, called Ruby, who is just 4 months old and takes up a lot of her mum's time (but in a very good way.) While she is having a nap (quite rare during the day!) I thought I'd take a few minutes out to share the artwork I had been doing right up to having Ruby.
I still try to illustrate here and there but I don't get very long, plus I really want to enjoy this time with my daughter as I imagine these precious moments of her development whiz by in a flash.
So here are a couple of images for The Sunday Express magazine (September, 2011).
I have also been busy with the images I do for Lucy Berry's piece for Reform magazine I did a few back to back so they had a stock pile to use in the first few months. I still manage to keep these going but they have to be done much quicker these days!

New work for Samara
Well, it's been a bit longer than I'd like since my last post but I have been a busy lady and what with it being summer and all, I've had a fair few short breaks around the country visiting friends and family. All very lovely of course and being nearly 7 months pregnant now, does make me slightly less productive but I have managed to squeeze in a few illustrations lately.
The first is one I did a little while ago was for Reform magazine. It was quite a nice illustration to do as Sav (the teenage son in this monthly column) is thinking about his heritage, being a mixture of English and Jamaican and I put together a little sketchbook, which meant I could incorporate pictures from previous illustrations.
The second piece I have done recently is another illustration for The Sunday Express magazine. I have just sent another one off today but this is the one from a couple of weeks ago:
